BEFORE, DURING, & AFTER A FLOOD

No other natural disaster in America has caused more deaths then flooding. Floods are among the most destructive, natural hazards in the world. If you are in a flood zone or want to be prepared for a flood you might want to invest in a boat. That was just a joke but may be a good idea. Prepare your home by sealing off basements from seepage and create good barriers around your house. They have even invented devices that capture the water before it comes near your home. If a flood is likely in your area listen to your local news to be better prepared. Turn off the main breaker box to all electricity. If the warning is given to evacuate please do not wait. Also, be careful moving through water. The current of the water can cause you to fall. Carry a stick to find solid ground as you walk through it. A lot of people try to flee thinking they can escape the water but end up caught in a dangerous situation. There are many ways you can prepare for flooding.
