This smurf has an amazing story behind it! Experiencing a Fire loss is a very traumatic experience. Not only can the structure be damaged but memories could be lost.

This family suffered from a fire that wasn’t a total loss but items inside were damaged. Items can be replaced but to this family their son had passed away years ago and the one particular item that the mother found and wanted to try to save was this smurf. It was a very sentimental item that meant so much to her and we were there to help. Not only were we able to remove the soot and even the smell of the smoke from the home, but we actually restored this smurf for the family. Restoring the house was a great but giving back a item that meant so much was amazing!

Different Types of Smoke

There are two different types of smoke–wet and dry. As a result, there are different types of soot residue after a fire. Before restoration begins, SERVPRO of Paris will test the soot to determine which type of smoke damage occurred. The cleaning procedures will then be based on the information identified during pretesting.
